Top 5 Goriest Games of All Time

29 10 2007

We’ve all played various games in our life. There are a few games which come only under the ‘ M ‘ (Mature) rating for the blood and gore in those games. Here is a list of the Top 5 Goriest Games of All Time. WARNING: The following are all rated M by ESRB meaning that these games are meant for mature audiences only.

#5 Manhunt:

There’s no getting around the carnage in Rockstar’s “Manhunt.” But what else would you expect from a game that has a storyline built around snuff films?

Here’s just a few of the many ways you can kill in “Manhunt:” You can stab people in the face with a crowbar, hack them with a cleaver, suffocate them with a plastic bag, smack their skull with a baseball bat or bash their brains in with a hammer.

The violence in “Manhunt” is so blunt, so bathed in blood, that it can make even the most hardened gamer a little squeamish

#4 Gears of War

Microsoft’s “Gears of War” gives players one of the coolest weapons in all of video games: an assault rifle with a chainsaw bayonet. With it, you can have a lot of fun mowing down your enemies.

You can use it to run up and saw their faces as if it was a Thanksgiving Day turkey. You can also use it to sit back and snipe enemies from a distance, and a well-performed head shot will pop your rival’s skull like it was a plasma-filled balloon. If you love messy kills, then you got to try it.

#3 Carmageddon

“Carmageddon” is an auto racing game with a thirst for blood. While other titles challenge you to cross the finish line first, “Carmageddon” dares you to be the first racer to run over all the pedestrians along the road.

Sure, its graphics may be a little outdated by today’s standards (or more precisely, they’re blocky and crappy), but that doesn’t take away from the game’s brutality. There’s an abundance of bloodshed and dismemberments in it that few titles can match. If you’re a gearhead who loves gore, then “Carmageddon” is pure bliss.

#2 The Punisher

“The Punisher” is a man who has devoted his life to punishing people who do evil unto others. And he does it with pain.

The THQ game has some truly ghastly scenes when the Punisher interrogates bad guys for information. His horrific methods include throwing people into fires and wood chippers, and holding a man face down in a piranha tank until his flesh has been eaten clean off.

But his most gruesome method, the one that will make any gamer cringe, is when he holds a bad guy under a drill press and drills through his face. Yeesh.

And finaly,

#1 BloodRayne 2

Few games are as aptly named as Majesco’s “BloodRayne 2.” In this game, blood doesn’t splatter, it pours. Every time the half-human, half-vampire Rayne slices a bad guy with her blades, the victim spouts blood like a fountain and completely stains the floor.

If that wasn’t enough, Rayne can impale her foes on the horns of animals that are mounted on the walls like trophies. There’s something extra twisted about using a dead animal to skewer your enemies.
